Why is Solidarity running with United for Change?

For the past 2 UFT election cycles, UFT Solidarity has run independently when our requests to collaborate and work together with other groups have not worked out. The pandemic has led to a resurgence in union activism and has shown us all that the opposition, that is non-Unity groups, have more in common than they have differences. Solidarity is a member-focused caucus and United for Change supports this. It was a no brainers for us. We believe that our union leadership can do better. We believe we need to reclaim our dignity.
