I wrote to Andrea Carte that I would like a Step 1 meeting with the principal because she cancelled the first meeting and then I couldn’t attend the meeting which I made clear early in the day because the union representative never got back to me until the day of the meeting which was already too late. That day I was busy working and I couldn’t discuss with them in advance. I tried emailing and calling but I was ignored. Grievance K79258 needs to be withdrawn at Step 1 as all of this was already put in writing. Thanks. I’m trying to get get a copy of my teaching file because Principal Yallowitz discontinued me and other teachers for not wanting to cheat on the Regents & also forced many teachers to quit in a small school. She’s also been in the paper and has had this reported before. She then proceeded to cancel my discontinuance hearing three times and tamper with my teaching file. I’ve been successful for many years outside of the DOE. Here is Ms. Velazquez unprofessional reponse sent to me: per your numerous and repeated requests, make note of the following:
The Step 2 grievance will be withdrawn and closed. Because it has been withdrawn, you will not have the ability to appeal.
The Step 1 will be withdrawn and closed.
Your withdrawal of this grievance indicates that you do not wish to proceed with the underlying issue. The grievance process is not a revolving door.
You have received your personnel file more than once, therefore your grievance is MOOT.
She now continues to ignore me and I still don’t have a copy of my file to review for my discontinuance appeal. Maybe things change but as of right now it seems as if Ms. Valazquez is in the business of trying to protect corrupt administrators & not help teachers.
