What Do You Want to Know Wednesday- Post #1
During “What Do You Want to Know Wednesday” we will post a question you had at a meeting or that was sent to us via email.
Question: Is there a statute of limitations on appealing an observation?
Our Answer: For teachers covered by Advance, an APPR Complaint (which deals with procedural matters, and not whether you agree with Danielson Component ratings or statements within the observation report), you must file the complaint form within five school days of knowledge of the act or occurrence that led to the complaint.

If you want to try an appeal to the Commissioner of Education pursuant to Education Law § 310, you have thirty days from receipt of the observation report.
